Repression--Iranian style

Jay is sitting back in the big chair today whilst the kids busy themselves with a couple of column ideas. It is, after all, getting close to their deadline. I wanted to start today off with this from Michelle Malkin. As few probably know the Iranian mullahs have been cracking down on their citizens for years. Recently, it's become just a bit worse than usual. Go to Michelle's site and look at those pictures.

This is what the Iranian regime is all about. It is repression at it's worst. These men were beaten, forced to drink from jugs that men use to wash their derrieres, forced to drink fro toilet water jugs, and even threatened with death. Why? Because the "morality" and "thought" piolice in Iran deemed that their clothing was inappropriate. They decided their hair was too long. They didn't like them for one reason or another because in their view they were not looking or acting Islamic enough.

Now of course we all know this goes on over there, but Michelle has a special challenge, and I would surely be happy to pass that along. Where are the "intellectual giants" on this matter. Where is Rosie O'Donnell, or George Clooney? Where are the elites in Hollywood who weep over the made-up figures of Iraqi civilians killed since our invasion? Where are those elites who gnash their teeth over Darfur? Where are they now when the Iranian people need it most. There isn't enough attention being placed on Iran. Of course it's not just Hollywood beiong silent on this. Amnesty International is so quiet on this subject that a chirping cricket could hear a pin drop.

Yet Amnesty International is the first one to point fingers at the United States for made up stories of Qurans being "desecreted" by US troops at Gitmo. They're the first ones to raise up a shout about abuse; abuse perpetuated by a small group of individuals in one isoltated incident. Yes, those people were punished, but it is Amnesty International that accepts the word of a detainee released from Guantanamo Bay who claims he was abused, despite the fact they know the detainees were encouraged by their associates to lie. It is a common practice, and a trained one by al-Qaida instructors.

Here's the problem with people like Clooney and O'Donnell, and with organizations like Amnesty International---They don't want to speak out against anything unless it fits their political agenda. So I hate to be the bearer of bad news for Ms. Malkin but there won't be a peep out of these people over any of this. But that is why she, along with Gateway Pundit, Ali Eteraz, and Iran Focus are all making these photos available today. People need to see them and understand that we can't make nice with this nation's current government. Repressive and abusive; uncaring about anything other than their precious religious law; hurtling towards obtaining nuclear weapons; continually a threat to the region they inhabit--That is Iran today. They are not a democracy; they are a "thugocracy," and they can't be trusted.

The self-righteous moral absiolutists don't care about these people at all. Sort of makes one wonder why they are listened to at all.

It's good to see Sabrina's name again. A blog that should be on the front page of every newspaper in the country. I read the "rationale" or their "excuse" for Iran's crackdown on the people. They are doing it to keep Islam "pure." I am reminded of Hitler's Brown Shirts and their reason was to create a Aryan race. They want to instill fear in the people so as to control them. Since it isn't happening directly to us, we look the other way. We cannot look away. We must understand what Islam is all about. It is about control. It's about a warrior, name Mohammad, that killed and murdered for the sake of it. The Supreme leader of Iran is not the Holy man Carter likes to believe. He wants Nuclear weapons. There's no doubt he will use them. He hates-he hates the Jews, he hates us and he even hates his own people. So does its President Ahmadinejad. They are evil. Rawriter
