Snobbery on the Left
It shouldn't surprise anyone to know the Left is beyond snobbish elitists. But you rarely see them show their cards as openly as Barbara Boxer did last night. (Watch the video. Transcript below.)
SEN. BARBARA BOXER: So all of this is a diversion by the people who want to, frankly, hurt President Obama. You've heard the Republican Senator Jim DeMint say it.
MATTHEWS: Yeah.
BOXER: "Let's make this Obama's Waterloo. Let's break him." That's what this is about. And by the way I saw some of the clips of people storming these townhall meetings. The last time I saw well-dressed people doing this, was when Al Gore asked me to go down to Florida when they were recounting the ballots, and I was confronted with the same type of people. They were there screaming and yelling, "Go back to California! Get out of here!" and all the rest of it, until I finally looked at them and I said, "You know what? Your hero Ronald Reagan is from California, you should show a little respect." And then they quieted down.
So this, this is just all organized. Just go up on the Web site Chris. You, you in the media have to take a look at what's going on here. This is all planned. It's to hurt our president and it's to change the Congress. It's, and you know what? We went to the White House today, we heard President Obama. It was wonderful to hear him. He's so calm and cool about this. He says we gotta be tougher, we gotta be stronger, we have the truth on our side on these issues. We'll just get out there and present those facts to the American people and let them choose between people who are screaming and those of us who are trying to explain how we can really help our families afford medical care in this great nation of ours.
Let's start with point one. Can Babs Boxer get the DeMint quote correct? She's got it wrong in the back and forth with Chrissy Matthews. The exact quote was reported by Ben Smith. The quote is: "If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him." Can someone please make sure Babs pays attention next time she decides to misquote someone, especially a fellow Senate colleague.
Point two, I've seen the videos. These aren't people dressed in Brooks Brothers suits like the monkeys in Congress wear. They're wearing jeans, T-shirts, halter tops, dresses, skirts, shorts, in flip-flops and loafers. In short, they look like your average citizen. They are the average citizen. And you know what? They're pi$$ed that the monkeys in the government are going to attempt to seize 1/6th of the nation's economy in their health care takeover. And here's Babs talking down to them.
Point three, Reagan was from California. He was a federalist. He never would have asked ANYONE from Congress to go into another state and interfere in a federal election. And I'd also like to add that Boxer, more than likely, is making up this confrontation in Florida. I don't recall seeing or hearing of such a confrontation, and I'd think that it would've made the news, be it MSM or alternative media.
Point four, Barry isn't calm and collected on this. He's ticked that he can't ram this straight through. In fact, he's so upset over the pushback he's ordered his health care czar to create a way for people to snitch on one another on this issue. From the White House website, via Jeff Emanuel at RedState:
There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.
"Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help."
Sounds positively Nazi-esque, doesn't it? The Nazis used the same sort of tactics -- anonymous tips -- to crack down on those opposed to Adolf Hitler's rule. Of course they don't say what will happen to those that are reported. No doubt the thugs will be released to go after these people. Not to do any sort of harm to them, most likely, but to harass them. This is what the White House has been reduced to. It's Chicago Way thug politics.
Babs Boxer loves to snobbishly look down her nose at anyone beneath her. Harry Alford put her in her place last month when she tried to play the racial demagoguery game. The protesters at the town halls are putting the health care supporters like Arlen Specter and Kathleen Sebelius on notice. There are countless protests that have occurred in the opening days of the congressional recess that has forced the supporters back on their heels. They've been caught by surprise by the backlash from the nation. It's created such a furor that many are cancelling their town halls, or they're only inviting their supporters.
The pressure on health care needs to be ratcheted up. We can stop this. Schumer is hinting at using reconciliation to pass the death care package. Reconciliation is to be used for budget bills only, and to use it for this is not constitutional. But that's how the snobs act. We're going to take it and like it. I'm sorry but this bill will do nothing to help the nation. It's a lie they're peddling that 47 million people can't get health care. That's bull. EVERYONE can get health care. If you're sick, if you get hurt, you can go to the hospital and get treated. They can't deny you treatment. It's the cost that needs to be dealt with, and this reform that idiots like Babs Boxer, Chuckie Schumer, and Barry Obama want passed will do nothing to reduce costs. We'll be on the hook to pay the health care bills of those who can't pay. Some of us already do this.
The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is a state-run insurance program for those unable to get regular health coverage (not affordable to them) and we, the taxpayers in Arizona, pay for it. Thanks to us those people get health insurance that affords them insurance similar to the sort the rest of us either pay for already, or is provided by our employer.
The real snobs are those in Congress and the White House that demand we roll over and take this like a man. Tell Congress to take their reform and stick it where the sun doesn't shine. Do it politely. Bring your facts. Keep an eye on King Banaian and company at SCSU Scholars as they break down the reform, and give a number of questions that should be asked of your representatives. Those that are brave enough to hold these town halls will try to spin it that there is no bill out there. That's a lie. H.R. 3200 is available for anyone to read. Go armed with facts, and shut down the snobs like Babs Boxer when they sneeringly deride you. We do know what's in this bill. It's Congress that doesn't.
